For nearly 60 years, our travel agency, Backpacker Tours, has proudly guided travelers like you to some of the most beautiful mountain destinations across North America. It’s been our privilege to share in your adventures, from first chairlift rides to unforgettable alpine sunsets, and to be part of your journey along the way.

Today, we’re excited to share the next step in our journey. Backpacker Tours is now ALPINR Mountain Travel. This new name reflects more than just a fresh identity- it represents our growing commitment to bring you deeper, broader, and more inspiring mountain experiences around the world while incorporating the modern luxuries that compliment an amazing adventure. From the slopes of the European Alps to the powder of Japan, the peaks of Patagonia to the highlands of New Zealand, Alpinr Mountain Travel is your passport to the world’s most iconic and remote alpine destinations.

While our name is changing, our unwavering dedication to personal service, curated expertise, and the spirit of mountain adventure that has defined us since our start will remain the same. You’ll still work with the same experienced team you know and trust, only now with a broader reach and an even greater ability to craft extraordinary mountain vacations- anytime, anywhere. As always, you can depend on our popular Mardi Gras ski trips and our classic destinations in North America. And as a customer of ALPINR Mountain Travel, you will benefit from great discounts and early access releases on gear and apparel in our stores and online with The Backpacker.

Leading this company has enriched my life with countless meaningful relationships and skiing experiences that I am forever grateful.

Thank you for your loyalty, your trust, and your adventurous spirit. I’m excited to show you what’s next in the world of mountain travel.

Warm regards,

Michael Mathews

Chief Adventure Officer
